Bowdoin Athletic Department to resume game schedule

After postponing games scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday due to the tragic events in New York and Washington, the Bowdoin College Athletic Department announced today that it will resume events starting this weekend.
Women's soccer, men's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball all had scheduled games canceled in the past two days.

"The question for us is what is best for our students," according to Athletic Director Jeff Ward. "After speaking with several people, my sense is that we should play. I know that many people will carry a pit in their stomachs, but I think that returning to our regular schedule is important. One of the gifts of athletics is a release from the problems of life through the spirit of play."

The men's soccer, women's soccer and field hockey teams host Williams College on Saturday, while the volleyball team and men's tennis squad have away matches.
